Tribute To Firemen: A Firemen's Poem
Emergency Notices
A Tribute to Firemen
Trucks washed, dirt and grime gone
No
time for rest, it's not even dawn
The
bell rings and alarms blare
Stranger in trouble needs someone to care
Dispatch says alarm is for smoke
Jump
in the truck, this is no joke
Weather is bad, winds blowing
Lights are flashing red and glowing
The
doors open, the sirens scream
Your
washed truck lost it's gleam
Your
adrenaline flows, emotions high
Smoke from the windows, pound on the door
A warrior trained to deliver the cure
You
worked hard to get here, no ordinary guy
You
see a child's toy, try not to cry
A
family greets you with kids they love most
Another false alarm, it was just burnt toast.
You
muster up a smile, grab your axe
Gonna do it again tomorrow, a hero doesn't relax
